Talent Pass at European Research and Innovation Days 2025

On 16–17 September 2025, the Talent Pass EU project joined policymakers, researchers, stakeholders, and citizens at the European Research and Innovation Days in Brussels — the European Commission’s flagship event shaping the future of research and innovation.

This annual gathering is a unique forum where Europe’s leading researchers, industry partners and decision-makers connect to discuss competitiveness, sustainability, and industrial leadership. Over the course of two days, the programme featured more than 20 sessions with high-level discussions on the Startup and Scaleup Strategy, the European Life Sciences Strategy, the AI in Science Strategy, and the European Innovation and European Research Area Acts.

From visionary panels to interactive sessions, the event provided a space to bridge ideas and implementation. Talent Pass was proud to contribute to these forward-looking discussions, reinforcing Europe’s commitment to shaping a strong and sustainable research and innovation ecosystem. Attracting talent was a major theme - both through the new ChooseEurope initiative and the positive outlook for the European Research Council (ERC) in the context of a new global geopolitical order.

Talent Pass Engagement at R&I Days

At the heart of the event, Talent Pass partners actively connected with the wider research and innovation community:

  • George Mihail Manea (Euro Atlantic Diplomacy Society, Sibiu, Romania)

  • Marie Latour (Euro Funding, Brussels, Belgium)

  • Valentina Quiroga-Fonseca (Catalyze, Amsterdam, Netherlands)

These interactions, supported by the B2Match networking sessions, helped strengthen collaboration opportunities within the European innovation landscape.

Strengthening Links with the European Commission

In addition to participation in R&I Days, the Talent Pass project team held strategic discussions on 18 September 2025 at the European Commission – Research Executive Agency headquarters in Brussels. Meetings with Elena Basilio Puig, Project Officer, and Alberto Garcia, Financial Officer, provided valuable insights and advice on project implementation, ensuring Talent Pass continues to align strongly with the European Union’s research and innovation objectives.
