TALENT PASS Project: Kick-Off Meetings in Iași

The Petru Poni Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (ICMPP) in Iași hosted the official Kick-Off Meeting of the TALENT PASS Project from 9–11 July 2025, gathering international experts, project partners, policymakers, and stakeholders in a hybrid format (on-site & online).

The opening day featured presentations from the ICMPP leadership team, including Dr. Valeria Harabagiu (Director), Dr. Magdalena Aflori (Project Director), and Dr. Raluca-Oana Andone (Project Manager), a workshop and consortium meetings. The morning also included insights from the Talent Pass International Advisory Board, representatives from the World Bank, KU Leuven, The Romanian Academy, and Stockholm University.

In the afternoon, European and industry partners from Romania, Slovenia, Portugal, Spain, Italy, the UK, and Turkey introduced their organisations and roles in the project, setting the stage for future collaboration.

10 July 2025 | Circular Economy Workshop

The second day was dedicated to a high-level workshop on the circular economy, chaired by leading researchers from ICMPP. Sessions addressed topics such as circularity in plastics, bioeconomy systems approaches, circular economy business models, and R&D strategies for zero-waste solutions. Contributions from academic experts, research institutes, industry partners, and the World Bank, highlighted the project’s cross-sectoral approach to sustainability and innovation.

11 July 2025 | Project Management & Consortium Meeting

The final day focused on internal project coordination, with sessions of the General Assembly, Executive Board, and Work Package Leaders. Discussions covered project activities, milestones, risk management, and budget planning. The meetings concluded with a session on conclusions and perspectives, led by the ICMPP coordination team.

Building a European Network for Innovation

The TALENT PASS project marks an important step toward strengthening collaboration between research institutions, industry, and policymakers across Europe, with a strong focus on training, secondments, and circular economy research. By bringing together experts from multiple countries and disciplines, the initiative aims to foster innovation, sustainability, and excellence in scientific cooperation.
